Coombe Wood School

Safeguarding

At Coombe Wood School we believe that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our young people is everyone’s responsibility.

This includes all the actions taken to promote the welfare, both physical and emotional, of all our students and to enable them to have the best outcomes. Child protection is a part of our safeguarding responsibilities which focuses on protecting specific students who are identified as suffering or likely to experience significant harm both inside and outside of the school premises.

All staff are trained fully in safeguarding both annually and regularly in line with government policies and reviewed advice.

The Pastoral Team here at Coombe Wood work hard to ensure that both staff and students can report concerns and that their voices will be heard. This ensures that we support our students safely through their school journey and the best chance of leading happy and healthy lives as adults in the future.

There are times in our lives when we all need someone to talk to and growing up having to deal with different situations that we have never experienced before can be tough. Knowing that you have someone to talk to in a non-judgemental confidential space can be a great help especially if you find it hard to speak to your parents and maybe even your friends. Maybe you feel vulnerable or think no one wants to listen, the School Counsellor is here to listen and help you find solutions to help your situation. Read the information sheet matching your year group for more information.
