Student Leadership
At Coombe Wood School, we believe that students should be encouraged to take on roles of responsibility throughout their time at school that enable them to take an active role within the school and local community. Students who are successfully appointed to Student Leadership are given the opportunity to develop their own confidence and leadership skills, as well as learning to work as a team and think creatively.
There are currently two types of Student Leadership at Coombe Wood School:
- School Council - key responsibilities include fundraising for the school's chosen charity (Lives without Knives), organising school rewards, carrying out gate duty and carrying out action research to help improve the experiences of our students.
- Youth Travel Ambassadors - key responsibilities include promoting safer travel (view our video by clicking here and working with TfL on an anti-idling campaign. We have just been awarded the Silver accreditation for our work on the TfL Stars scheme.
As our school grows, more students who exemplify our core values will be given the chance to take on a leadership role.
